Bush cuts programs

The downsizing of the government will begin in earnest. Bush warns us of the end of programs we need and supported by Democrats in his state of the Union address.

My budget substantially reduces or eliminates more than 150 government programs that are not getting results, or duplicate current efforts, or do not fulfill essential priorities.

I have mentioned previously that Democrat supported programs like HUD, welfare etc. can be expected to be reduced. Anything that helps Democrats will be attacked in the next four years.
